Case One Newspaper Article-
If you were to publish a newspaper article for educational purposes, and it was part of the course pack, this would be considered a fair dealing. If you were to use this for anything else it would be considered an unfair dealing and would fall under the copyright act.
Case Two-Book
If you were to use a book for educational purposes as part of a class handout, this would also be considered as a fair dealing. If you were to use it to be published as your own, it would fall under the copyright act right away.
Case Three-Musical Score
If you were to use a Musical Score for your own private study, this would be a fair dealing. But if you claimed it as your own it would be considered an unfair dealing.
